What People Say About Us

We are so proud of our school and our pupils we talk about it all the time. It is also great to hear about what others thinks about us.

"Chorley Mayfield School are the most caring and professional SEN school that we have had the pleasure to work with, during our time we had great support from all the staff and saw the truly amazing affection and interaction between staff and students.    Chorley Mayfield would always go the extra mile to assist the students making there learning process enjoyable and rewarding.   We would be happy to teach at Chorley Mayfield again and look forward to a bright future and continued mutual business cohesion".

Darran Kalthober - Militarycation Team Leader, October 2018

"Individually, and as a whole, I saw first-hand how supported, safe and comfortable your students feel. I saw Grauer's core values in action as kids persevered, used their resources, showed compassion and asked their teachers for help. I saw mutual respect and the relationship driven education that I've read about in your newsletter so many times. To witness these relationships in action was heartwarming."

"Mayfield has changed my life. I always feel better when I come to visit. What you have done with Paul in less that a year has been amazing - you all care so much, not just for him but the whole family. It has put the smile back on my face with the care and support you offer. Its the best school we have ever been to and all the staff are brilliant from the head teacher, to the assistants working in class."

"Wow - family involvement week has been great, lovely family atmosphere - children are so happy and welcoming. A real lump in my throat when we sang the national anthem. No school does it quite like Mayfield, you really care about the children and their wellbeing - it's like coming home!"

"My son has been attending the school for over 6 years, he loves it he is excited to go every day and always returns with a huge smile on his face! The staff are fantastic, he is well looked after and makes great progress. I am always kept up to date with his progress and have been given lots of feedback and advice from his teachers and other staff. I could not be happier with this school!"

"I have been teaching dance in Mayfield School to year 10 and college students for the past 6 weeks and I can honestly say it has been one of the most memorable and best experiences I have had in my teaching career. The students are absolutely amazing and give 110% in every thing they do. The staff that work at Mayfield are fantastic and the relationship they have with the students is wonderful. The staff go over and beyond to cater for all the students and it is so visible to see. I always looked forward to teaching in Mayfield and always went out with a smile on my face. What a fantastic school. I really hope I return to Mayfield whether it is to teach dance or anything else."

"What an amazing school this is. I have visited to get to know a child I will be supporting and been made to feel so welcome. The staff are so knowledgeable and clearly love working with the kids. The kids themselves are fantastic and learning so many really important skills - its so lovely to see them all so happy and proud."

"My daughter joined the school in April 2015 at the age of 9. Her mobility was limited and my husband and I were struggling to motivate and encourage her to walk. Up to this point it seemed only we believed she could walk. What a breath of fresh air to finally meet a team who treat every child as an individual and truly strive to ensure all young people despite their disability achieve their full potential. From class teacher, support staff and the management team everyone works together. We've received lots of support and encouragement, our daughter had undergone intensive sessions and in the last few months this has begun to pay off with our daughter taking her first independent steps leading to her being redefined as a walker who needs assistance not a wheelchair user. Mayfield whole approach has radically altered outcomes for our daughter and we are truly grateful."

"My daughter has been attending this school for 15 years now and will soon be moving on. She has achieved so much here in that time from taking her first steps at 4 to swimming a length independently at 16. This and so much more would have been impossible without the nurturing and support of the wonderful staff who have worked with Amy over the years. They have also been there to support and guide me through some very tough times and the many more wonderful times too. It will be with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Mayfield, but the foundations built here will continue to grow and develop. It truly has been a second home for Amy, thank you all so much."
